Celtic Gods and the Otherworld
In the beginning were the depths of the endless sea, from which emerged Danu, the mother goddess. From her divine waters flowed all life and the first of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
The Tuatha Dé Danann, children of Danu, brought magic and wisdom to Ireland. They came through the northern mists, bearing their four great treasures: the Sword of Light, the Spear of Victory, the Stone of Destiny, and the Cauldron of Plenty.
These divine beings shaped the land itself, creating sacred hills and valleys. They fought the Fomorians, dark creatures of chaos, establishing order and the cycles of nature.
When mortals came, the Tuatha Dé retreated into the Otherworld, into their fairy mounds, where they remain as guardians of ancient wisdom and magic, occasionally crossing into our world through sacred sites.
