Ah Puch

The terrifying lord of the underworld and the ruler of the lowest level of Xibalba, a skeletal being adorned with bells that ring with the sound of approaching death. He is the "Lord of the Flatulence" and the master of decay, waiting in the dark to claim the souls of the fearful and the unrighteous. Do we shiver because of the cold, or because we hear the rattling of his bones in the wind? He is the personification of the inevitable end, the shadow that proves that even the greatest king must eventually descend into the moist earth.
