Charles Taze Russell

A Restorationist minister whose teachings and publications led to the formation of the Bible Student movement, now known as Jehovah’s Witnesses. He founded the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, using print media to spread his belief that the "Times of the Gentiles" would end in 1914. He rejected the doctrine of the Trinity and the idea of eternal torment in Hell, focusing instead on the literal establishment of God’s Kingdom on Earth. He was a pioneer in using visual media for proselytizing, most notably with the "Photo-Drama of Creation." His focus on chronology and biblical prophecy continues to define the identity of the movement he started.
