Christ

In Gnosticism, Christ is not the sacrificial lamb of the material world, but a celestial Aeon sent from the Pleroma to awaken the sleeping sparks of light trapped in human flesh. He is the "Great Revealer" who bypassed the barriers of the Demiurge to bring the secret knowledge of the True Father. He represents the divine correction, the celestial surgery intended to extract the spiritual gold from the dross of the physical prison. He is the messenger of a kingdom that is not only "not of this world," but fundamentally opposed to it.
