The goddess of the rope and the patroness of those who choose to end their own lives to find a swift passage to the paradise of the afterlife. She is often seen suspended from the heavens, a melancholic guardian who ensures that the souls of the brave and the suffering are guided safely to the shade of the cosmic Yaxche tree. Is death a door we must wait for, or is she the compassionate guide for those whose burdens have become too heavy for the world of the living? She represents the dark mercy of the Maya, the one who honors the final, desperate choice of the soul.
