Marcus Garvey

The prophet of the movement, Garvey was the one who told the people to "Look to Africa, for when a Black King is crowned, the day of deliverance is near." He was the architect of the bridge between the scattered children of the West and the motherland of the East. Though he never set foot in Ethiopia, his words were the wind that carried the seeds of the faith across the ocean. He represents the vision of the self-reliant man, the one who realized that the first step to freedom is the decolonization of the mind.
