The first martyr and the compiler of the Adi Granth, who sat on a burning hot plate for five days without a cry of pain, repeating: "Your Will is sweet to me." He built the Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple) and sacrificed his life to protect the sovereignty of the soul. He represents the "Summit of Sacrifice," the one who proved that the Spirit can never be burned, drowned, or broken by the tyranny of men.
