Azaka

The cousin of the soil, the hardworking peasant lwa of agriculture. Dressed in blue denim with a straw sack (macoute), Azaka is the spirit of the ancestors who tilled the earth to survive. He is suspicious, frugal, and deeply tied to the land, representing the "roots" of the family and the sanctity of the harvest. He reminds us that no matter how high we climb, we are always sustained by the humble dirt beneath our fingernails.
