Marassa

The Divine Twins, the sacred children who represent the duality of the universe—male and female, human and divine, life and death. They are capricious, powerful, and demanding, often viewed as the first children of God. The Marassa represent the paradox that "one is two and two is one," the primordial balance that precedes all complication. To serve the Marassa is to acknowledge the innocence and the fierce hunger of the beginning of the world.
