Sophia

The most tragic and beautiful figure in the Gnostic mythos, she is the Aeon of Wisdom whose desire to know the Unknowable Father caused her to "fall" from the Pleroma. Her error created the physical universe, but her compassion remains hidden within it as the "sparks" of divinity. She represents the struggle of the intellect to grasp the infinite—the goddess who broke the world and is now spending eternity trying to pick up the pieces. She is the wisdom that we find only through our mistakes.
