Ereshkigal

The Queen of the Great Below, the dark sister of Inanna who rules the Irkalla with iron laws. She is the goddess of death and stagnation, the one whose skin is like the earth and whose hair is like the grain. Ereshkigal represents the "Unyielding Reality" of the end. She is the sorrow that cannot be bargained with and the justice of the tomb. She asks: are you prepared to strip away your crown and your clothes before you enter my gates?
