Telepinu

The noble god of agriculture who once disappeared in a fit of rage, causing the mist to choke the windows and the grain to wither in the fields. He represents the precarious nature of the harvest and the terrifying possibility of a world without growth or life. When he sleeps, the world dies; when he is appeased, the rivers flow and the cattle give birth. He is the god of the vanishing and the returning, the personification of the delicate balance between the human will and the natural order.
