Nicolaus Copernicus

The priest who "stopped the sun and moved the earth." Copernicus realized that we are not the center of the universe, but merely travelers on a small rock orbiting a medium-sized star. He represents the "Displacement of the Ego"—the revolutionary act of looking at the world from the outside in. He took the crown off the earth and gave it back to the heavens.
